This is why I cook.
The average adult body contains somewhere around 250 grams of salt. Throughout history, this precious combination of sodium and chlorine has proven instrumental for food preservation, trade, seasoning and nourishing the body.

Shared human experiences a always worth reverencing, especially our moments of convivial nourishment. Food can help and harm, so in communing to eat, we honor our bodies. And, in feeding you, I choose to nourish intentionally.
This is how I cook.
My cooking philosophy combines my own food history & innate intuition with food with my years of rigorous training and global techniques.
My approach is inspired by my father, Jerry’s, love for the sea and my mother, Cheryl’s, love of seasonally fresh and dearly-held flavors. It is a celebration of Blackness rooted in refined comfort food. By using sustainable seafood and vegetables, cooking with the season, composting, and repurposing I create dishes that help excellent ingredients maintain their beauty and integrity.
